Hunter Communications, Inc.
History

Founded in the 80's in Newport Beach, CA as a traditional design and marketing communications firm, Hunter Communications* is best known during that period for extensive work with Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., designing the Lexus logo and major projects for the Orange County Performing Arts Center among others.

Relocating to Century City in the early 90’s the company expanded into interactive design and digital media applying traditional marketing approaches to emerging new media opportunities.  The company designed the Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) for many award-winning software products for Symantec’s Peter Norton Group.

Identifying the trend toward the personalization of computer desktops, the company created high-profile, digital projects including those for Forbes Magazine and VISA International promoting its sponsorship of the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.

In 2000, the company created a groundbreaking, award-winning website for the California Water/Wastewater Response Agency.

The company moved to its current location in 2002 into the newly renovated Sherman Oaks Galleria in Sherman Oaks, CA and continues to serve as the marketing agency on behalf of that property.

From 2003-2005, the Hunter creative team assisted in the launch of O & S Holding's landmark Louisiana Boardwalk (Bossier City).

In 2005, Hunter Communications, as part of its involvement on a task force charged with building public awareness of the $330 million Metro Orange Line dedicated busway opening across the San Fernando Valley, created and executed two major projects: The Metroliner Preview Event and the Metro Orange Line Commemorative Poster & Fun Map.

In 2006, Hunter Communications retooled the corporate website for existing client Douglas Emmett (NYSE:DEI) to play a key role in the company’s November public stock offering.

During this period, the firm developed the website for the 2007 Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Conference on behalf of event hosts Los Angeles City and County Fire Departments.

  The miracle of modern technology
One of Hunter Communications' original projects for Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. is brought back to life.

The company continues to update its online marketing platform to take advantage of latest trends and technology. One such upgrade occurred in 2007 coinciding with the retooling of four Developers Diversified Realty (NYSE: DDR) premier west coast shopping centers including Paseo Colorado in Pasadena and The Pike at Rainbow Harbor in Long Beach, Buena Park Downtown in Buena Park and Christown Spectrum Mall in Phoenix.

The Hunter online platform was upgraded again in Spring 2009 in part to include integration of social media.
